NBL Basketball Clinic

Yesterday we took 15 students to the Alice Springs Basketball Stadium for a clinic with the NBL team the Adelaide 36ers. The 36ers are on their way to Darwin for their Pre-season tournament, the NBL Blitz. The boys we took down have been training and playing on Thursday afternoons all term. It was a great experience for them to learn from the pros.

The boys got to go through seven different drill stations, learning skills about passing, dribbling and shooting. They also got to play some 2-on-2 and 3-on-3 games with some of the 36ers’ players.

A lot of the boys were in shock when they were trying to guard a 7-foot giant named Kai Sotto. Sotto is trying to become the first-ever homegrown Filipino to make it in the NBA.

The clinic finished with a Q&A where the students got to ask a question each, followed by receiving an NBL singlet which they could get signed by the whole team.
