Mighty McKay Moments

McKay House, and all SPC Houses,  prides itself on the care and support that we provide to our Year 7 students as they transition to secondary schooling. This is a year long process where Year 7 students are provided with a Year 12 Buddy whom they regularly meet with to share special moment, concerns and general school related activities. As our Year 12s move towards their exams and final moments of high school they step down from their Buddy role and our Year 10 students move into this role with the aim of following Year 7’s into Year 8 so they feel supported in a positive and holistic manner.

Last week was the first time our Year 7 and 10’s worked together in McKay. Our focus was on creating portraits for one another using playdoh and sharing common interests with one another whilst doing so.

There were some very interesting creations and some standout pieces of art too. The air was abuzz with chatter and laughter creating a positive environment to begin this new relationship.
