Around The Primary

Dear Parents

Thank you to the many parents and grandparents that attended today’s Assembly. It was delightful to see the Year 2 students performing so confidently on the stage in Roncalli Hall. Thank you to Miss Nish, Miss Ricciardi, Mrs Haydon and Ms Exten for preparing the students so well.

Congratulations to all the students who received a certificate for their wonderful efforts. Well done to all the talented musicians and vocalists who received a medal or a trophy for their performance/s in the Music Eisteddfod.

On Thursday, the IPSHA Year 3-6 Interschool Athletics carnival was held at All Saints College. Our Interschool Team performed very well, with plenty of ribbons awarded and many personal bests achieved. Our students displayed excellent sportsmanship and encouraged one another throughout the day. A huge congratulations to all our participants! We are very proud of you. Special thanks to Mr Williams, Mrs Standing, Mrs Purcell and parent volunteers for all your hard work too!

Planning for next year is well underway. The complex process for creating class lists for 2023 has begun. Changing classes each year is a normal part of school life and a significant opportunity to renew and develop relationships across the year level. Your support of our process is greatly appreciated.

We value the contribution Grandparents make not only to the lives of children but also to the life of our school, they are an important part of our community. We look forward to this special event each year and can’t wait to welcome our Grandparents on Thursday 13 October.   Save the date!

Kind regards

Grandparents’ Day

Pre-Primary Music

The Pre-Primary students have been learning about high and low sounds, and the correlation between the size of an instrument and the sounds it produces. As part of their learning, the students sang with Goldilocks and The Three Bears, and learnt about the instruments (double bass, cello, viola and violin) that each character ‘plays’ in the music story. The students enjoyed measuring themselves alongside the cello and the double bass!
