Principal's Report

Dear Parents, Guardians, and friends of Nazareth

Last Thursday, we gathered to celebrate Nazareth Day. We celebrated who we are as a Community, what we stand for and what we are known for. I was delighted to be able to do this in person, especially for our Year 7, 8 and 9 students who have been unable to experience Nazareth Day celebrations previously.

As Nazareth students, we strongly encourage respect for oneself, respect for staff and fellow students. We want to be known as a welcoming Community where everyone is valued.

We have tried encapsulating this in our Nazareth Commitment Statement.

‘As a Nazareth Community, we commit ourselves to accept everyone as their authentic selves. Each of us are created by God in his image. Everyone’s voice will be heard, and everyone will feel loving acceptance and inclusion, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability or age. We are a welcoming Catholic school for all and respect the dignity of all.’

As Nazarenes, we try to encapsulate the characteristic of Jesus and the Holy family of Nazareth. We strive to be like them and what they stand for.

We serve others, especially those less fortunate than ourselves. We are here to provide and nourish the poor and those in need. We are here for each other and to celebrate our diversity and give them thanks for our rich multi cultural Community.

Nazareth Day also reminds us to be grateful for all those who, for the past 37 years, have been part of this Catholic coeducational institution. We thank those who had a vision of building a school, a school that has been a home for thousands of students, families and staff members. In doing so, we also ask for God’s guidance on the school as it moves forward into the future.

Nazareth Day also celebrates those that have strived for excellence in their Faith, Wisdom and Knowledge by awarding special prestigious awards (inclusive of certificate and relevant badges) to a small number of students that have demonstrated the values and criteria of each award. These awards are only given to a student once over the course of their six years of studies.

I congratulate the following students that were awarded the Faith, Wisdom and Knowledge Awards for 2022:

The celebration day was a day when everyone enjoyed each other’s company, raised some needed funds for the house charities and, more importantly, celebrated what we stand for as Nazarenes.  There were many rides, activities, food vans and a talent quest to finish the day.

This year Damon Weibgen won the Nazareth Day talent quest.

Congratulations to all for a fantastic day of celebration.

Keep safe, and God bless
