Senior VCAL PDS Charity Projects
Senior VCAL students have been working hard planning and organising their complex charity PDS projects. This PDS projects allows students to connect to local, national and international efforts in giving back. This year students have teamed up with Samaritan’s Purse, FoodBank, Backpack 4 VIC Kids and
RizeUp Australia.
Samaritan’s Purse does a Pack-A-Shoebox drive where they will send a shoebox filled with gifts to children overseas. A group of students have been busy painting and decorating the shoeboxes for the children aged 2-4 and 5-9. They even held a meeting discussing what sort of gifts should be given to the children most in need. Ms. Samuel came into the class to talk about the importance of these Pack-A-Shoebox events as most often the children receiving these shoeboxes only get a small gift once a year or have never received a gift before.
The FoodBank drive is well underway.
The FoodBank collection box is looking filled as the days have passed. Foodbank will be coming out to visit Lyndhurst Secondary College in early September to see the efforts of the Foodbank group.
