Term 1 Round 2 Primary School Cricket Competition

LNPS White ventured to Cowandilla last Saturday and won 93 runs to 76.

The opposition had 3 more fielders than is usual which made it hard for us when batting but some accurate bowling and losing less wickets got us the victory.

Some highlights were:

  • Jasper scoring 19 runs and taking a great catch under a high ball
  • Excellent wicket keeping by both Riley and Cooper
  • Accurate bowling by Hayley
  • Awesome encouragement by everyone when watching their team mates bat

A great effort by LNPS White!

Kind Regards

Michael Crawford

LNPS Blue played against West Lakes Shores at home on Saturday and won 143 runs to 48.

The opposition had almost all inexperienced players but gave it their best shot.  The morning certainly warmed up, which meant that the players sweltered in the sun with their pads on.

Some of the highlights were:

  • Kobe (Senior) hitting six 4’s and getting a total of 28 runs off 14 balls faced.  He also took 3 wickets in his second over of bowling.  His first over was a maiden, the second was a wicket maiden.
  • Noah took two catches as wicket keeper and his run total included three 4’s (total 21 runs off 13 balls faced)
  • Koby (Junior) took a wicket in his second over. This was the first game he played for us.
  • Curtis made a significant improvement in his batting this week.
  • Brendon made his highest run total (10) since moving into C Grade last year.
  • Molly took two wickets in her second over.
  • Both Curtis and Calvin made significant improvements in their bowling economy this week.
  • Ethan made 6 runs off 13 balls faced
  • Josh made a wicket maiden in his second over.

At training this week we will concentrate on bowling with a straight arm, as well as trying to reduce our number of wides.

2020 Term1 Round 3 Primary School Cricket Competition

LNPS Blue was due to play against Largs Bay Primary School, but they had to forfeit due to players being away for the weekend or off sick.  Kobe, Brendon, Molly and Calvin had a bit of a scratch match instead.

There is no cricket this weekend due to the long weekend, however we will still have training on Thursday.  Training will be a bit shorter this week (finishing at 4:15 instead of 4:30) due to Goal Setting Conferences.

LNPS White played against Torrensville PS at Torrensville PS oval.
