Performing Arts

Ms Stanton

Howdy all,

What a whirlwind this term has been! Over the past eight weeks students have been working together to bring to life the world of play for Trinity Primary: Offline and Onstage. Rehearsals for the concert provided opportunities for students to shine across all realms of the Arts: creating artwork for backdrops, leading in dance numbers, singing in their class number, and acting expressively in an ensemble. Over the past few weeks, across all grades, students have learned and practised choreography – a corepart of the dance curriculum. While performing their choreo, students were also engaging in moving safely, ensuring that they leave room for their fellow dancers and acclimating to objects and set pieces on the stage. To target the performance practice curriculum across the performing arts (dance, music, drama), learners have been working on simultaneously singing and dancing all while creating and showing a specific character to the audience. This meant that more often than not Trinity learners were showcasing a multiplicity of talents as they voluntarily took on numerous responsibilities needed to ensure that a our production ran successfully.  And successful it was! A huge thank you to all of our Trinity students who went above and beyond as performers! All of your effort paid off and together you all presented a wonderfully entertaining show for friends and family. The Trinity staff are incredibly proud of your actions both on and off the stage. Keep letting your stars shine! Hopefully the story of the families in our world of play resonated with the stories of our Trinity families. We’ve been through a tough couple of years, but when we come together as a community we can shake off our worries and enjoy a little bit of sunshine!

Also, how fun is the hokie pokie!? That was some great dancing, audience! Thanks again to staff, students, and their families and loved ones! We couldn’t have done it without you!-Ms. S
