Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Oh What a Night!

I am absolutely certain each of you will share with me in saying what a great job done last night by our entire school community. Whilst there are, of course, significant individuals behind a project like our school concert, it is without doubt an impossibility without the support of all of us, parents, children and staff. I thank you all again as parents for helping your children with costumes and in attending the concert last night to show your support for each of them.  Our staff at Trinity have been amazing in preparing the children, encouraging them and helping our director, Ms Stanton and her Assistant, Ms Georgia throughout rehearsals. Events such as this really do highlight the strength of our school community, the importance of celebrating together and the talent so many of our children posess when given the opportunity to share these with others. During our rehearsals we saw many budding directors, choreographers, dancers and performers emerging so, I just can't wait till 2024 for our next school concert and what might be possible then!

Student Learning - Writers Festival

Ten very lucky students will attend the Melbourne Writers Festival tomorrow with Ms Marinelli. As many of you might know, Ms Marinelli runs our Pen Pals Club each week and these talented students who have attended throughout the year are being rewarded with this very special experience. I look forward to a full report from the group in next week's newsletter.

Prayer:  Thanking God for Family

We are very thankful, God, for the good times we have with our families. Thank You for allowing us to enjoy each other’s company. Thank You for giving us time to spend with them each day.
Preserve our good relationships, Father, whenever we are with our beloved families. Let peace reign in our homes and let compassion fill each of our hearts. Teach us what it is to experience real joy and enable us to show each other what this means.
Lord, You are our Prince of Peace and the One that guards our hearts. May You always remind us to be peacemakers, especially within our families. Protect us from hateful thoughts, and let us not be the reason for causing chaos in our homes. Guide us each day as we walk through life with our families, wherever each of us may be. All these we ask in Your Name, Amen.

NAPLAN

NAPLAN Reports will soon be delivered to schools for distribution to parents. As has been communicated in the past, these test results are a measure of students abilities on one series of tests over a three day period in the areas of Writing, Reading, Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation and Numeracy. Whilst these test results do provide some interesting data for individual students and whole school groups, there are still many things not measured by the tests which we should always consider when making judgements over our children's abilities.

Once we receive the tests we will send them home with children in a sealed envelope.

MACSSIS (Melbourne Archdioces Catholic Schools School Improvement Surveys)

Once again I remind you that the School Improvement Surveys will soon be sent to families. Early next week you will receive an email including an individual link to the survey. We ask that each familiy complete one survey. The data collected is an important source of information for our school when planning for school change and school improvement. The data does, of course, also offer us an insight into the areas of school community and school performance in which we excel so that we can all celebrate these achievements together.
