"From Trash to Treasure"

A little more about the Production..........................
Rehearsals next week (9):
After school rehearsals are cancelled on Monday 05/08 due to a dialogue rehearsal occurring all day that day with Carol and Laura. Sunday 11/08 rehearsals are not cancelled as they have a whole school rehearsal in Week 10.
This is a play with over 25 speaking parts (5 main characters) and 21 musical items including 14 house cohort performances, 4 house cohort songs, a choir performance, a "Stomp" style percussion item and a song sung by the whole school for the finale.
The music we have chosen to use is very eclectic and includes songs by Elvis, Meghan Trainor, Shakira, Bruno Mars, Madness, S Club 7, Phil Collins, Peter Allen, Katy Perry, Cindy Lauper and Britney Spears.
It also includes The William Tell Overture, Chariots of Fire and the theme from Pirates of the Caribbean.
Students have been working very hard to learn their dance items as well as the 2 songs they will be performing.
It has been lovely to watch individual talent come to light and shine in their specific roles.
Sometimes it's a small cameo role (such as the Big Bad Wolf, or the 3 blind mice) who steal their scene.
There is also a rumour going around that B1 and B2 make a brief appearance.........Shhhhhh!!!!
As excitement grows around the school about the production, we understand there are some concerns regarding the finishing time (approx. 9pm).
We fully appreciate this is past some students regular bedtime, and as such will be understanding if students require a sleep in on the Wednesday and Friday following the performances.
All students are expected to perform in the finale as a whole school item. This is often a highlight as it brings all students together at the end.
Also, as teachers will be in the hall supervising students prior to the finale, it is logistically difficult to sign students out early without disrupting the performance.

- DUE TO HEALTH AND SAFETY REGULATIONS, WE ARE UNABLE TO HAVE PRAMS AND PUSHERS IN THE AISLES OF THE THEATRE
TICKET PRICES:
ADULTS AND STUDENTS - $20 (+ online fee)
CHILDREN UNDER 5 - $10 (+ online fee)
COSTUMES - Notices (hard copy/paper) for costumes have been issued. Spares are available from Carol during Music classes.
PLEASE RETURN COSTUME REPLY TO CLASSROOM TEACHERS or CAROL BY FRIDAY SEPT 9TH.
THEY CAN ALSO BE PLACED DIRECTLY IN THE BLUE BOX IN CAROL'S PIGEON HOLE OUTSIDE THE STAFFROOM.
STUDENTS WILL BE ASKED TO BRING THEIR ITEMS FROM HOME TO SCHOOL THE FIRST DAY BACK OF TERM 4.

- Are you able to assist with any sewing? We have some small and some larger costume jobs. Please send me (Carol) a message if you are able to help out in any capacity.

Do you have?
- a hobby horse lying around your house that we could borrow? If so, make sure it is named and you can leave it with your child's classroom teacher or bring it to the Music or Performing Arts room.
- a portable clothes rack we could borrow from the end of Term 3 through til after the Production in Week 2 of Term 4?
