Music

The  focus in Music classes this term has been on Production items.

Not only learning the songs, dances and percussion items, but giving soloists the opportunity to rehearse with a microphone, and rehearing the important entrances and exits. These are often just as important as the content of the items, as it helps to ensure a smooth and seamless production on the night.

I have been super impressed with the students' listening skills, particularly when dancing to music without lyrics. This can be a huge challenge as the choreography relies on listening to, and identifying particular phrases, notes and sounds.

It has been lovely (and also valuable) for classes to start to perform for their peers over the last couple of weeks.

Laura and I have combined classes in order for grades to begin to perform for their peers and give and receive constructive feedback.

Thanks also to those who have returned their costume notices. These are due by the end of next week (Week 9 of the term) and are particularly important if you require our assistance locating certain items for your child.

COSTUMES ITEMS FROM HOME WILL BE REQUIRED THE FIRST DAY OF TERM 4 AND WILL REMAIN AT SCHOOL AND THEN AT THE THEATRE UNTIL THE FINAL PERFORMANCE.

Please ensure your child won't need any of the items they need to bring to school.
