The Australian Mathematics Competition is held every year. It was introduced in Australia in 1978 as the first Australia-wide mathematics competition for students and has since spread internationally, with students in more than 30 countries attempting the same problems.

The AMC is for students of all standards. Students are asked to solve 30 problems in  75 minutes and the problems are designed to test mathematical thinking. Questions get more difficult as students progress through the competition, so that at the end they are challenging to the most gifted students. Students of all standards will make progress through the problems, and also be challenged along the way.

All the BSC participants conducted themselves admirably and gave the competition their best. We make special mention of Zachary Freeman and Polly Stokes  who both earned a High Distinction at the Year 8 level of the Competition.

Quite a number of students were recognised with Distinction and Credit awards for their efforts in this prestigious competition - reflecting their commitment to achieving the best outcomes possible.

BSC is very proud of you all. Congratulations  to all the students who undertook the competition and well done on undertaking a daunting challenge!
