On the night of Wednesday 19 April, Year 12 Drama students and I met at La Mama theatre in Carlton to see the play Parasites by Ninna Tersman.

Centred around two teenagers 'amidst the unrelentingly damaging confines of an asylum seeker processing centre', the play showcases some of the non-naturalistic conventions and techniques Drama students at the VCE level study.
The production was followed by a Q & A with the director and actress, which was incredibly valuable given that this play is on the prescribed VCAA playlist for 2017, meaning that Year 12 Drama students will answer questions on the production in the end-of-year exam.
