Library

I think everyone needed a bit of a breather after Book Week and we have all let out a collective sigh... the costumes have been packed away for the year and we can get back to life as usual. Since Book Week we have run a fun Pokemon finding competition in the junior library which required the children to locate Pokemon using library themed clues. We had a great turnout of about 15 children even though it was a bright sunny day outside! To end off the term we have a collection of new books which the students are chomping at the bit to borrow once everyone has had a look. Please be aware that we have generated class lists of books that are overdue and it would be appreciated if as many as possible could come back to the library this week so we can start fresh in Term 4 with no overdue books!

In the senior library we have had some great competitions, challenges and celebrations happening! This week we celebrate the 100th Birthday of Mr. Roald Dahl who I think has enriched the literary lives of most Australian children and adults! We also had a "which book is out of place" competition that required people to look at a variety of Harry Potter books written in several languages. Teachers, students (and one Canadian Librarian) were stumped by which one was out of place, but it was good fun watching the quizzical looks on everyone's faces.

And finally, we wish to congratulate those students, across the school, who have completed the Victorian Premiers' Reading Challenge this year. While the number of students who completed the challenge was only 13, there were several individuals who came close but didn't quite cross the finish line - better luck next year!
