WELCOME BACK

The PE department would like to welcome all students back to McKinnon, and hope that they are all enjoying their 1st PE lessons of the year. I would also like to introduce Ash Bell and Carly Moore who are joining the PE team in 2022.

We hope all members of the school community had a well-deserved break and were inspired by the many Sporting successes that have been televised over the holidays including the Ashes, Ash Barty, Dylan Alcott, Nick Kyigros & Thansi Kokkinakis and The Diamonds.

2022 is set to be an exciting year in Sport with hopefully a lot to celebrate over the two campuses. We will be kicking off the year with some lunchtime activities such as Rock Up Basketball, the weights room club and fitness sessions to help students keep active and have fun. We have also organised more recess Dance concerts with the Nikki Visaj Movement. Keep an eye on the Compass newsfeed posts for all the information on how to get involved with these activities.

Inter school sport is also back this year. The Years 7 & 8 students will have the opportunity to compete against the other Kingston Division Schools from week six this term and the Intermediate and Senior Students will soon commence sign ups and training sessions ahead of their inter school round robin days on Thursday 31 March and Monday 4 April.

The McKinnon Swimming trials will be taking place on Monday 28 February at GESAC. All students wishing to compete at the trials for a place on the McKinnon swim team will need to complete the form that will be sent out shortly.

We look forward to seeing all students embrace the opportunities to stay active at school and enjoy participating in Sport.
