General News

Congratulations to Minadhi and Minaya Somawansa who completed their Bronze Award for the Duke of Edinburgh.

Minadhi and Minaya both did badminton for their Physical Recreation. For their skill component, Minadhi learned to draw flora and fauna and Minaya drew wildlife in their natural environment.

Both girls volunteered at an early learning centre for their Service Component. They helped staff with the serving of nutritious meals while considering dietary requirements.

The final component of their award was the adventurous journey. For their practice journey, they completed a bushwalk in the Dandenong Ranges from Belgrave train station through Sherbrooke Forrest to Grants Picnic ground. The qualifying journey was an overnight stay in Lilydale with a bushwalk to Mount Evelyn.

Well done girls !
