Bring food and fibre learning to life this National Ag Week!

In celebration of National Ag Week 2021 (Monday, November 15 - Friday, November 19), the Produce It. Protect It. team in conjunction with Primary Industries Education Foundation Australia (PIEFA) is gearing up for a jam-packed series of events and resources to bring food and fibre learning to life in your classroom. Across the week, we will be hosting twenty nation-wide, live-streamed Farmer Time sessions for students from Foundation through to Year 12, showcasing producers from a broad range of food and fibre industries. Session times and length will vary depending on the focus year group.

Register for these events here.

Check out the PIEFA STEM challenge which is open for students in Foundation to Year 6. It involves a series of industry-focused food and fibre STEM activities for primary school students and is accessible for teachers via the Primezone website throughout the week. STEM challenge participants are invited to create their own Farmer Time experience by taking us on a virtual tour of a space that produces any type of food and/or fibre, or is important to the environment. An accompanying live Farmer Time session will take place on Friday the 19th of November to spark inspiration in students before they jump into the challenge. An awesome two lesson unit of work centred on Technology in Agriculture, designed for students in years 3 and 4, will also be accessible via the Produce It. Protect It. website on National Ag Day, along with a brand new 15-Minute Farmer Time session for years 5 and 6 students, which can be found in the Virtual Classroom section of the Produce It. Protect It. website.
