Principal's Message

Mr Paul Clohesy

Welcome to the 2021 School Year

Dear families,

Welcome to the 2021 school year. It was fantastic welcoming all the students back to school last week. Despite the inclement weather students were able to reconnect with each other and their teachers and there was a very positive feeling throughout the school.

It is always exciting to welcome a new Year 7 group and their families into the College.

This group was full of enthusiasm and once they found their way to their new home in the Tuck Wing there was a great atmosphere of excitement.

We deliberately schedule camp in this first full week so we can get the students out to enjoy the outdoors, overcome challenges together and make new friends.

I look forward to visiting them down at Kangaroobie later in the week and wish our Year 7 students and the staff accompanying them an enjoyable camping experience.

Be your best

The key message from the school to all students is for them to be their best and do their best in all they undertake.

The theme of making or being the difference will be a concept we make reference to all year. As a school, we want to make a difference to every student and staff member who enters the gates. Likewise, we want our students to make a difference to lives and school experience of others.

By us all doing and being our best in our learning, in our extra-curricular endeavours and in the way we treat each other we will be helping Trinity College be the best school it can be.

New staff in 2021

I would like to introduce our new staff to you all. In total we welcomed nine new staff members to Trinity College and we are very excited about the skills and enthusiasm all of these staff will bring to our community.

Five new teachers have joined the staff. ⦁ Kirsty Almond will be teaching Science and Mathematics including Year 12 Chemistry. ⦁ Annie George will be joining our Learning Diversity Team and will also be teaching Year 7 English and Religious Education. Annie will already be known to many of you as she comes to us from Sacred Heart Primary School. ⦁ Jennifer Colbron will have a Year 10 Homeroom and will be teaching predominantly English with 1 Art class. ⦁ Isabelle Philpott is also a Year 10 Homeroom teacher and is teaching Biology, Psychology and Mathematics. ⦁ Grace Weideman is teaching Music across all year levels and also has a Year 11 Homeroom.

Two additional staff have joined our Wellbeing Team. Paige Turner has been employed on a full-time basis in Wellbeing. Paige is an experienced psychologist who will be able to provide excellent support for our students.

Joining Paige in Wellbeing is Sarah Green. Sarah is a qualified Occupational Therapist and Counsellor. Paige and Sarah join current Wellbeing staff Jeremy Barren and Sharna Russell to significantly increase the overall staffing in this important area of the College.

The best way to make contact with Wellbeing is to email them at wellbeing@tcc.vic.edu.au or for urgent matters please phone the school.

Nikki Williams has joined our admin staff on a part-time basis and will be sharing the Registrar role with Amber Sell. Andrea Roach is transferring from admin to the Learning Diversity area where she will work as a Learning Support Officer.

Finally, Eliza Cahill returns to Trinity College after graduating last year. Eliza is taking on the Sports Trainee role for 2021.

Information Nights

It would be great to see as many families as possible attend the various year level information evenings over the next couple of weeks. The evenings will provide some important year level information as well as introduce some key staff that will be working closely with your children.

Regards
