From the Principal Class Team

Survey results from the staff and parents
We have recently received the results of the School Staff Survey and Parent Opinion Survey, and both show good support for school programs and general satisfaction with the school.
The School Staff Survey
This survey covered 2 main areas - School Climate and Teaching & Learning
School Climate - we were above the State mean in a number of areas, and our results were high to very high for the following.
- Academic Emphasis
- Guaranteed and Viable Curriculum
- Collective Efficacy
- Trust in students and parents
Teaching and Learning – included 4 modules: Practice Improvement, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation. We were above the State mean in 21 of the 30 areas and were very high in:
- Timetabled meetings to support collaboration
- Professional learning targeted to improve literacy and numeracy
- Moderate assessment tasks together.
The Leadership Team have analysed the responses and staff have already begun the process of reflecting on the data and exploring it in terms of what it means for individuals and teams of staff and how we might go about improving in targeted areas.
The Parent Opinion Survey had more respondents than the previous year, up from 71 to 97 parents. There was a majority positive endorsement for much of what we do at the school by those parents who completed the survey.
In summary, all domains had more positive and less negative endorsement than in previous years, and we significantly improved in:
- Student motivation and support
- Student Agency and Voice
- Non experience of bullying
- Respect for diversity.
We would like to thank those parents who took the time to complete our 2020 survey and we encourage all parents to take part in 2021, when we send out the invitations.
Student Recognition Prize
Each year, our school recognises students who model the school values, meet the 90% attendance requirement, and demonstrate behaviours and effort consistent with the Student Management Policy and Connect Protect Respect.
The names of all these students are put forward by the Sub Schools, and there is a draw to select one student from each year level to take home an iPad.
Congratulations to this year’s winners, and to all students who are recognised for their commitment to the values of the school.
VCE Results
Due to the effects of COVID 19, VCE results will be available to students later than usual.
Students will be able to access their results from 7am on December 30th.
To support students making changes to their tertiary preferences, the school will be open on the 30th and 31st of December. Ms Armstrong and the Careers team will be available for students to aid them in their decision making.
Good luck to all of the students who will be receiving Unit 3 and 4 results.
