Junior Debating

The junior debaters held their first and impressive debate on Thursday 3rd December with 7C as the audience.
In the affirmative team we had: Ashton Nguyen, Vinh. Both teams delivered the arguments with confidence and cohesion. The final result was extremely close with the affirmative team winning the debate by a narrow debate Nguyen and Darren Tran.
On the negative team was Minhthu Huynh, Devesh Jwalesh and Dinda Widya Murti Murti Ni Made. The topic for the was “That schools should enforce consequences for students who participate in strikes during school hours margin."
Best speaker was awarded to Minhtu Huynh who not only summed up for the negative team, she gave an excellent rebuttal.
Congratulations goes to all students for attending the training sessions and preparing for the debate.
Also, thank you to Yen Tran and Meera Mansukhani of Year 9 who adjudicated the debate and shared their expertise with the Year 7 students.
