Zoe Addinsall continued her Tetrathlon (running, swimming, shooting and riding) and Triathlon series success by winning her age group at Maffra on Australia Day. Congratulations to Zoe! We wish her every success as she works hard training for state competition in show jumping and dressage later this month. 

The Horsemanship program is ready and raring to go for 2021! 

 

Senior Horsemanship for Years 7-12 is on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. Junior Horsemanship for Junior School students is on a Wednesday afternoon. All skill levels are catered for and welcomed! The Senior and Junior Horsemanship form is attached to this newsletter for your reference. 

Meet our team of  2021 instructors  at The Hamilton and Alexandra College Equestrian Centre

 

Christine Corbidge

 

With over 30 years of experience in the equine industry, Christine specialises in 'Confidence Coaching' for both horses and humans, She travels around Australia holding clinics as well as teaching at her homebase 'Wongaburra'.  She caters for all ages and levels (beginner to professional), and all areas of horse activity and sport. 

 

In Junior Horsemanship, Christine will offer all her experience to develop good horsemanship skills and habits, from the ground to the saddle on Wednesday nights.  

 

In Senior Horsemanship, Christine aims to focus on fluidity training for creating happy athletes, as well as confident, relaxed horses in flexion and engagement at all levels and disciplines. She is offering lessons in our Senior Horsemanship program on a Monday and Thursday night.

Angela Lea

 

Angela brings qualifications in both equestrian Australia and secondary teaching, along with over forty years of practical experience with countless horses to the team. Her teaching offers practical tools that improve riding skills, fitness and mindset. As a professional Equine Masseuse, Angela’s work is complemented by her understanding of the equine body, biomechanics, and horse conditioning. Angela will be offering lessons in both our Senior (Mon and Thur) and Junior (Wedn) Horsemanship programs. 

Anthea Sutherland

 

With over 50 years of experience as a highly qualified instructor in the Equine Industry both nationally and internationally, Anthea brings her experience and skills to our horsemanship program at both a junior and senior level, for all levels of experience and disciplines of equestrian sport. 

 

Anthea will be offering lessons on a Monday and Thursday in our Senior Horsemanship program and on a Wednesday for our Junior Horsemanship program. 

Jamie Murray 

 

With over 30 years of experience and a Level 2 Equestrian Australia Coaching Qualification, Jamie Murray brings with him many years of experience coaching state and national teams and has been one of our long-standing instructors at our Colelge Equestrian Centre. Jamie specialises in coaching for Show Jumping on a Tuesday afternoon in our Senior Horsemanship program.

Please make sure you join our THAC Equestrian Facebook page for regular updates and photos of all our Equestrian endeavours. Updates and entry forms for competitions are also posted on this page so make sure you keep up to date! All equine students should be following this page.

Please note any horses who are regularly coming to and from The Hamilton and Alexandra College Equestrian Centre must be up to date with vaccinations for Tetanus and Strangles and records of these will be maintained to ensure the biosecurity of the centre. You must also notify the Director of Horsemanship immediately if your horse has been in or originated from Queensland or Northern New South Wales. Please let me know if you have any concerns or questions.
