SAKG News

In our group we did garden maintenance by trimming back all the herbs in the wicking bed. The thyme smelt very strong when were cutting back. We learnt how to use the secateurs safely. One safety rule is to make sure the safety catch is on. 

Dante and Andy 4A

In the garden we harvested corn and sunflower, removed the dead plants and placed them into the compost. Then we dug the soil over to get ready for Autumn planting. We looked after the chooks and collected eggs. The yuckiest job is to clean their nesting box.

 Leila and Tia 4A

In the kitchen, we made dishes using our summer harvest. We particularly enjoyed the focaccia topped with garlic, herbs and tomatoes grown in the garden. There were so many zucchinis, corn and squash as well so we made dishes to use them up.
