Nature Play

We used the grasses that we had pruned in gardening class to make some wonderful creations. Fishing rods were very popular and it was beautiful to see the students acting out a fishing scene with friends.

Kitchen Garden

Cooking in the Kitchen! The Year 4’s were the first class to use the apples harvested from our garden to cook a delicious apple cake.

This fortnight we turn our faces upward to focus on how we can harness the sun's energy. We are making solar ovens in the hope of making smores!

Indigenous Inspired Artwork with 3a

CL: Rally Table
CL: Rally Table

'Our meeting is being held on the lands of the Bunurong people and I wish to acknowledge them as Traditional Owners.

I would also like to pay my respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities who may be here today.'

Students acknowledged and showed respect towards the Indigenous culture and artwork.

In Year 3 to 5, students are focusing on creating their own Dreamtime stories using symbol stones.

We incorporated lots of CL structures throughout the lesson to get students thinking, exploring and sharing ideas.

CL: Timed Pair Share- What do you think this artwork is about? What symbols do you see?

CL: Rally Table- Using mini sand trays, take it in turns tracing the symbols.

CL: Rally Robin- List the symbols that you were drawn to and will use as inspiration.

As a class, we went to the garden and  some students shared their Dreamtime stories.

The symbol stones from different classes look amazing in the garden.
