ROOM 22

There has been so much happening in such a short period of time in Room 22, that it would probably fill a whole newsletter! Here goes with some of the highlights.  John, Aiden Lee, Logan and Jordan have been learning how to use tools on a Friday in the workshop. Noah and Kelly have been learning how to make coffees in the Barista Training program. Everyone in Room 22 has participated in their first Bike Education lesson with more to come.

Stefani has been teaching us about big numbers and writing funny jokes on the classroom whiteboard. Did you know the number Googol has 100 zeros? Jei Jei has been looking after everyone and making sure they have books to read and games to play. Jordan is making sure we don’t forget footy season has started. Go Sydney Swans! Kelly has been writing stories and sharing them with the whole class.

But wait there is more!

We have had dance lessons, and on Tuesday we had our first excursion to the library this week and everyone seemed to enjoy getting out into the community.

It’s been a great start to the year with more to come. Here are a few photos of the fabulous members of Room 22.

Secondary Sub School News

Some of our VCAL students have been participating in a School Based Apprenticeship (SBAT) at Tullamarine, through the National Food Institute. The apprenticeship takes place every Tuesday and Thursday, including during school holidays. Students are sorting and packing boxes of food delivered from Oz Harvest for the community.

Our students are being supported by Maree Leach this Term as they commence their studies as part of the Certificate II in Warehousing, while also working with the team at the National Food Institute. As you can see, our students are loving this new opportunity, and we are privileged to be able to offer this program to students at JSA.
