Working With Children Checks

Thank you to our parents who have supplied their current Working With Children Check information for 2021.  It is exciting to be able to welcome parents and carers into our school again this year so we really need up to date details. If you have not already done so, could you please make it a priority to send us the information we need to enable us to verify the checks; this includes your 'Date of Birth' please.  Volunteer checks do not cost anything and can be sourced through Service NSW. Our wonderful parent, Marnie Jamieson has offered to help you through the process if you visit our friendly Service NSW office in the main street. Thank you Marnie.

Compass Absentee Notes

We have already had quite a few students rolled over into unexplained absences this year as they have not been entered by parents through Compass. Please take the time to enter this data into the portal as soon as you know your child is absent for the day.  Students also need to be signed in at the kiosk if they are late arriving at school.  Please, do not drop them off at the front of the school to let them walk in by themselves.  The rolls are marked right on 8:50am so if it is after this time they need to be signed in.

School Attendance

As a school we are focused on improving the learning of each student and one barrier we face is student attendance. I cannot stress enough the importance of your children attending school every day unless they are sick.  Due to COVID some students have missed more school than usual but there are still some students who regularly miss days and this is concerning. I would like to remind parents it is their responsibility to ensure that their children attend school regularly; explain to the school any absence within 7 days and take measures to resolve any attendance issues. Class teachers will contact families if a student is away from school for more than three consecutive days without prior notification. If poor attendance persists an interview will be arranged with the parent, class teacher & Principal to discuss ways to improve attendance.  Holidays should not be taken during the school term unless there is an extenuating circumstance. Extended leave, of 10 or more days, must be approved by the Principal and forms need to be completed and kept on the student file. For further information please read the attached Policy from the Catholic Schools Office.
