Cyber Saftey Day & Incursion

Written by Emma O and Jacob

Years 3-4 Cyber Safety Day

On the 4th of February the Seniors participated in a ‘Cyber Safety Day’ and learned all about being safe online. The 3/4‘s did rotations throughout the day and learned about not sharing your personal information to people online, how you cannot erase a digital footprint and discussed the iPad User Agreement. The 5/6's learned that there are age restrictions on apps, how to balance screen time with real life, to use THINK before you share online and what it means to be left on ‘read’.

Cyber Safety Project Incursion

On Wednesday the 31st of March, Sam and Jaz from the Cyber Safety Project came in to teach our years 1-6 students about being safe online. They were really engaging to listen to and we learnt a lot of information! In the 5/6 session, we discussed the three P’s in cyber safety:

Personal, Private and Public and how we can paraphrase a password to make it secure. The 3/4s were put into situations about deciding between what is a scam message or call and what is not. Finally, the 1/2’s learned about how to know whether or not you are safe online. Thank you to Sam and Jaz for such an amazing session to finish our Term.
