News and new acquisitions

Mr Anthony Kelly

The changing use of the Duffy Centre has had a very long history at the College. Being the oldest building on the grounds, Being built around 1900, it started life as a classroom.  After the completion of the 1926 Angela building, Duffy was turned into a recreational room housing billiard tables and had a film projector for the boarders.

The 1950s saw it  turned into a science laboratory. During the 70's and early 80's it was an art room and it was where I launched the New England Bonsai Society in the late 80's.

For some time in the 1980s and 1990s the space was used as a computer lab and since then it has been the home of Mrs Price's Agricultural classes and over the years has seen many students go through the doors.
