Whole School Happenings

There is still lots happening at our school!

Lily and Harry of Year 3/4 - what an effort!

During lockdown many of us have been looking for things to do for entertainment, or just to occupy our time. Two of our Bimbadeen students decided to use their time and effort to help others. Lily from 34F and Harry from 34P had heard stories on the news about the people of Afghanistan and wanted to do something to help. They decided to try to raise some money to be donated to the charity “Women for Afghan Women” (known as WAW), initially expecting to raise $150.

It turned into quite a project as these two amazing children researched their chosen cause, made posters to advertise it, worked out their budget for the prize hamper, wrote every raffle ticket by hand and sold them to family and friends. Lily and Harry used their computer skills to share their project online and even filmed some videos to thank supporters. In these tough and challenging times it’s great to hear about young people such as these two who are caring about the world and trying to make a difference.

Harry and Lily are shining examples of Bimbadeen’s values in action.

Their fundraising project has had many positive results and ended up raising much more than the $150 that they were expecting.

At the latest count Lily and Harry raised $2690.

What a fantastic result!

Woolworths 'Bricks' promotion...

The Library would be very grateful for any donations of the current collectors craze at Woolworths Supermarkets of 'Bricks'.

If you are not collecting for your own family, could you please consider collecting them for the school to use in the Library during recess and lunch times with the ever popular Lego bricks that get well used each day.

Even if you have excess/doubles of some and you would like to pass them on to the school, they would be accepted with much appreciation.

ANIMAL AID

If anyone is cleaning out their linen cupboards over the coming lockdown weeks and has any towels or blankets, or even any old newspapers lying around that you would like to donate on, a kind parent from our school community has offered to take them to Animal Aid in Coldstream, who are in desperate need of donations of these items.

Look out for the boxes to pop them in at the office when we return to onsite learning at school. Any towels, blankets or newspaper you are able to donate on will be gratefully received at the shelter.

POSTPONED.

New Date planned for Friday 5th November

Thank you to the local businesses and community in their generous donations to support our upcoming Trivia Night. Please purchase from them if and when you can, especially when we come out of lockdown - they will really need us to 'buy local'!
