Art for Artists : Internship opportunity

Get paid and mentored to make visual art for musicians

Do you enjoy sketching, drawing or taking photos?

Are you passionate about creating art for others to see?

Has lockdown hindered your ability to create?

Would you like to be paid for your artwork?

If so, this may be the opportunity for you!

Darebin FReeZa are looking for enthusiastic people (numbers are capped!) between the ages of 16-25 who have a passion in photography, sketching and creating visual/digital art.  This position offers a fun, safe place where young people can:

  • Create album art for other young local musicians
  • Work with a qualified artist/mentor to further develop your skills
  • Photography for artist portfolios, EPs, etc.

There is freedom in this role to choose on which of these aspects to focus on. You can work at times that fit with your schedule, and you will have access to friendly staff and a mentor to assist you.

We take ‘Expression of Interest’ from young artists at all stages of their artistic journey, prioritising underrepresented, new and local artists in Darebin. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with a disability, LGBTIQA+ people to apply for this opportunity.

  • Contribute to the overall supportive environment of peers
  • Be able to work independently, as well as interdependently.
  • Communicating with peers to create a product which everyone can enjoy

What’s in it for you:

As this is an internship, means there will be more flexibility in what you do and the hours you decide to work. However, there is an expectation to meet once a fortnight over two months.

As we really appreciate the hard work you put in, there will be a payment for your efforts!
