Year 8 Digital Technologies Games
This term we started Scratch animations and games. We learnt how to code correctly and the different parts of Scratch; for example, how to make our variables to add timers and scores. We learnt that you should always try to make your own original drawings instead of just using someone else's.
Some of the games we created were Hide and Seek, Collide, Maze, Flappy Bird and platform games. My favourite was Hide and Seek game which is like Whackamole.

VCE Computing
I chose computing because I decided that I wanted to try something new! It was scary going into VCE Computing because I didn’t know anything about computers, and I didn’t take any Computing electives in Year 9 or 10.
However, I am so happy that I took that leap of faith and chose Computing. The thing that I have loved about Computing is that it’s a really fun subject, but you learn so much at the same time! We have learnt about many applications and tricks that have helped me in my schoolwork for other subjects, and I know that I will be able to apply these skills in the real world.
In addition to this, Computing knowledge is highly valued by employers, and having this class on your résumé would really make you stand out when applying for a future career.
Computing is so enjoyable and very useful, and I would highly recommend it to all Kilbreda students.
