Infection Control/ Education

Infection control: Thank you all for your compliance with dress code. Your compliance is significantly appreciated and is very important in keeping staff and the residents safe.

A big thank you for all your support and great work assisting with COVID19 vaccination roll out for the residents on the 19th of May and monitoring of the residents after the vaccine. The roll out went better than expected. 68 residents and 23 staff were vaccinated on the day. We have our second dose scheduled for the 9th Of June 2021. Well-done and thank you all!

Education

Upcoming educations sessions:  Catheter and Stoma bag care for 25 May 2021 at 2pm has now been cancelled. It will be postponed to sometime in June, I will update staff once I have a date.

Care Staff Survey: As we continue to develop our meetings and education program we would be grateful if you could complete the following survey.  This will provide us with feedback on how we can improve the delivery and encourage staff attendance.

Mandatory training: SIRS reporting online learning currently running, it is due 4th of June for all staff.

For more information or questions about this, please contact myself or HR Sharon/ Lissa.

Manad: Well done for all the good work you have been doing, so far we haven’t had any big issues.

Just a reminder that ENs still log in incidents/ adverse events so if you witness an incident, please report it to your T/L and they will log it in.

There are folders in each area with cheat sheets for questions that have been asked, if you are stuck, refer to these. Don’t forget there are super users on each shift. Most supervisor staff and T/Ls are super users.

Lastly there should only be one parent wound or pain chart. The rest should be monitoring. When adding information to a wound chart or pain chart, please add a new monitoring or commence new copy instead of creating a new chart.  Meetings as required will be applied were needed to discuss major issues of area were staff are stuck.
