Eisteddfod Season

Its been eisteddfod season around town, with ASC students displaying their talents in many events!

Armidale Eisteddfod

Congratulations to ASC Trio Jay Gates , Alma Kanety and Saho Brown (Year 7) for winning both sections they entered. They were also invited to perform at the Gala Concert on Sunday --- a real complement and honour!

The New England Eisteddfod

The New England Eisteddfod hosted over 500 dancers during early June with competitors coming from as far away as Kempsey and Brisbane.

Congratulations to Mackenzie Ramage (Year 11) for her outstanding achievements throughout the competition, including:

• Championship Trophies: Classical, Jazz, Pamela Pool Shield (highest average scores over three dances in the eisteddfod);
• 1st place: Hiphop Improvisation, Jazz Solo, Jazz Improvisation, Demi Character;
• 2nd place: Contemporary Improvisation, Classical Solo, Classical Improvisation, Demi Character Improvisation, Modern Solo, Modern Improvisation, Contemporary Duo (with Sophie).

Congratulation to Sophie Frost (Year 12, photo at top of page) for achieving:

• 1st place: Classical Solo;  Modern Solo
• 2nd place: Contemporary Duo (with Mackenzie).

Congratulations to Paige Ramage (Year 9) for achieving:

• 1st place:  Hiphop Improvisation, Classical Duo, Contemporary Duo 
• 2nd place: Trio
• Highly commended:  Jazz Solo, Modern Improvisation, Jazz Improvisation, Own Choreography.
