Senior School News

Greetings from the Senior School 2016!
As a cohort of VCE students and teachers, we have been incredibly pleased with the beginning of 2016.
Students have shown a real desire to achieve academically this year, with a focus on developing strong partnerships between their peers and their teachers. Testament to this was the amount of VCE parents that joined us for the ‘Thriving and Surviving’ VCE Parent Forum; an excellent opportunity to hear from both the parent and student perspective. We were so lucky to hear from Jacqui Ryan, parent of two students from the class of 2015 and also recent graduates Sanda Naing and Darcy Cornwallis.
The Year 12s undertook a study conference day at Latrobe University, with the express purpose of getting off on the right foot for their final year of secondary schooling. The students brushed up on their studying skills with Elevate Education, received a head start on their English studies with Connect Education and heard from Tristan Miller, a man who ran 52 marathons in one year.
Right through their VCE, students will hear one consistent message: that of being responsible for their own and their classmates academic progress. We are a team of VCE students and teachers at Northcote High School and we must act accordingly. The better we look after each other, the more we will achieve and the more enjoyable the experience will be.
The Senior Team: Diana Corkery and Simon Lasslett at Year 12 and Carolyn Richards and Colm Reale at Year 11 are here to support your students. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have an questions or concerns.
