Recorder Eisteddfod Night

MONASH YOUTH MUSIC FESTIVAL, RECORDER EISTEDDFOD NIGHT.

It has been a long wait to return to Mount Waveley for the recorder eisteddfod night! There were competitions in both recorder solo and recorder ensemble sections at different ages, but as usual, it really was just a great concert!

The 12 years and under Junior Recorder Ensemble kicked off the night with everyone in very high spirits. Our Senior Recorder Ensemble played Boogie Blues and Walk Like an Egyptian, just like at assembly, only slightly better! For our efforts, in a close competition, we were awarded the first prize trophy!

Then, in the 10 years and under Recorder Solos, Quinn won the first prize medal, playing off by heart! Matt won the second prize medal with his beautiful trills. Seb M and Vivien M were awarded honourable mentions.

Then, in the 12 years and under Recorder Solos, Harry won the first prize medal, playing his solo with spirit! Tristan was awarded an honourable mention for his beautiful sound on treble recorder.

Then in the 13-18 solos, past students of CNPS played, with Heidi G winning first prize medal and Zadie B the second prize medal

The evening concluded with more fine playing by former students in the 18 years and under Senior Recorder Ensemble section, with RECORDICA, including past students Heidi G and Javier.

Thanks to all the parents for their support and the recorder students for trying their best.
