Div A

A good start for the year with strong bowling and batting displays by the ‘LNPS/Allenby Gardens/ Lockleys/Nazareth’ team

Thanks to the Nazareth boys for helping out this term, pleasingly the team is nearly at capacity.

Don’t forget Div. A Training Thursday 3:30 ‘sharp’ with Jeff

Div C

A real nail biter this week with LNPS winning by 2 runs.

Jack A coped an injury during warm up from some ‘friendly fire’ but soldiered on admirably and Mitchell got on to a lovely cover drive for a 4.

New to the school and to the team, Lachlan displayed some very good all-rounder skills.

Training details will be advised via text.

Starts this week!

School Football

The school is seeking expressions of interest from parents/caregivers for the role of LNPS School Football Delegate. This role involves the organisation of School Football  and a range of organisational tasks. The school will provide administration support as in previous years. We are also seeking volunteers to coach this years teams. To enable School Football to occur it is essential that we are able to find a pepole to undertake these roles if School Football is to be provided to students in 2016. If you would like further information or would be interested in the role please contact cliveberry65@hotmail.com or  tyson.grinham428@schools.sa.edu.au

SAPSASA Swimming

The 2016 Airport and Western Districts Trial Day will be held on Friday 6th March at Immanuel College Sports Centre, from 11:15am – 2:15pm.

To take part, students need to be strong, competitive swimmers, born in 2003, 2004, 2005 or 2006. They may compete in no more than three of the following events:

50m Freestyle

100m Freestyle (open)

50m Backstroke

50m Breaststroke

50m Butterfly

Each school can enter a maximum of two competitors in each age group, for each event, so students are not automatically guaranteed entry to their preferred events.

Relay teams for the SAPSASA Championships will be selected from the fastest qualifiers in each specific relay event. Students who gain Airport District selection will then go to the Metro Championships, to be held on Thursday 17th March, at the SA Aquatics Centre, Marion.

There will be a $5 SAPSASA fee for all students who register for the Districts Trial Day, whether or not they attend on the day. This money will need to be given to Mr Georgaris, and not to the front office.

Parents/caregivers are required to transport and supervise their children on the day. Lockleys North Primary School staff are unable to attend the Districts Trial Day as they will be attending a High Quality Teaching conference on the day. The school is also required to provide at least one volunteer to assist with timekeeping (experience is not necessary). Please let me know if you can help.

Interested students have been given a program for the day. If your child has missed out, please let me know via email and I’ll forward an electronic copy of the program.

If your child has not yet informed me of their preferred events then please let me know by Monday 22nd of February, at the latest, so the team can be finalised. You will then be informed of the events your child will be registered for. A team sheet, with all our participants and their events, will be submitted to the event organisers (by the school), late next week. Interested students will then be registered. Parents/ caregivers do not have to register their children individually.

If you have any further questions, please send me an email at Bill.Georgaris106@schools.sa.edu.au
