Waste-Free Wednesday

From The NMPS Sustainability Team

We are excited to be sharing a new initiative at NMPS to improve sustainable practices at our school.

Coming up in Week 6 we will be running a “Waste-Free Wednesday.” The idea is that we want as many people as possible amongst our students, staff, and the wider community, to pack food for the day without using any plastic packaging. This will reduce the amount of waste at our school and encourage more sustainable practices.

Our first NMPS “Waste-Free Wednesday” will be on Wednesday the 17 August.

Our goal as a community is to increase the frequency of “Waste-Free Wednesdays” until they are a weekly event.

Some families may already be packing “Waste-Free” Lunch Boxes, some may not. Wherever you may be on this journey to reduce waste at our school we encourage everyone to get behind our push to reduce waste at NMPS.

We will be running another “Waste-Free Wednesday” later in the term.
