Around the College

During the school holidays Brooklyn Collocott took part in The Victorian Sheep Show held in Ballarat. She entered the Junior Handlers Competition which, she not only placed in the top 3, but won first prize. She won this with a 2 year old Wiltshire Horn Ram.

On 14th July Brooklyn travelled to Bendigo to enter The Australian Sheep and Wool Show. This is the largest of any sheep show of its kind in the world. It will be interesting to see how she got along.

The attached web address is to the Ag Trader Newspaper which Brooklyn appeared in.

SSV CROSS COUNTRY

SSV Cross Country has been back in full swing this year and our students have taken the opportunity and run with it. Many of our students finished in the top twelve for the South Gippsland Division held at Lardner Park on a cold but clear day. All the runners did exceptionally well especially those who ran on to make the next round being the SSV State Cross Country.

This year, after a three-year hiatus, our eleven competitors, one of our biggest state teams, headed to the Yarra Valley Race Course on a frigid day to be confronted by a sodden course. The standard of running at this level is really impressive with winning times for 5.5 K.M. being just over fifteen minutes. In such elite company our students were highly competitive. All raced extremely well and finished well up in the standings. The highlight being our senior boys securing our first ever cross country medals finishing in third place for the open boys.

Well done to all and keep moving.
