Catholic Identity

Creator God, we follow in the footsteps of Jesus, as we walk together on your path of love, hope and faith.

Thank you for the gifts of our school,

our environment, our families and friends.

May our school be a place of learning, care, welcome and celebration.

Mary our Mother, pray for us.

St Mary of the Cross, pray for us.

Amen

This year’s theme for C.E.Sandhurst schools is

“Let the words you speak always be full of grace.”

As we continue to spread the Good News, we are called to be people of dialogue,

using our words as instruments of love.

We will encourage those in our care to speak kindly to one another in the classroom, the playground, on the bus, in the car and at home.

15th Sunday of Ordinary Time

From the readings for this Sunday call us to self-examination.

The prayer for strength is a heartfelt expression of our need for divine assistance and fortitude in times of challenges, adversity, and personal struggles. It is a plea to God, the ultimate source of strength, to grant us the courage, resilience, and inner power to face life’s difficulties with unwavering faith.

This prayer acknowledges our human limitations and seeks to tap into the boundless strength and grace of the divine, inviting God’s transformative presence to uplift and sustain us during moments of weakness or overwhelming circumstances.

It serves as a reminder that we are not alone in our struggles and that through prayer, we can find the strength to persevere, overcome obstacles, and emerge stronger in our faith and character.

Prayer for Strength

Lord God, I pray to You with utmost humility that You give me strength as I carry my cross today. There are so many challenges in my life that are draining my strength.

When I am too weak, carry me, when I am tired, give me rest, when I fall, lift me up, when I am hungry feed me, and when I am thirsty, quench me.

Almighty God, I know You are my protection, my strength, my shield, and my defender. I pray that You be at my side for I do not know who or what I will come across today.

Please help me to attach myself to You today. Also, teach me how to stand strong in You and choose only Your way on this day. Help me walk in Your truth.

Amen

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful

And kindle in them the fire of your love.

Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created. And you shall renew the face of the earth. O God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit,

Did instruct the hearts of the faithful, Grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy his comfort

Through the same Christ Our Lord.

Amen
