Junior School

Dear Parents and Carers,

Last weekend was World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly where we celebrate and rejoice in the roles they take in our lives and the lives of our children. I was fortunate to travel to Italy on the holidays with my fourteen-year-old niece and father and bear witness to the bond of grandfather and granddaughter where my niece had the love and attention of two adults who dote on her.

In the context of raising boys, grandparents bring a wealth of experience and wisdom that is passed down through generations. They offer stories of resilience, tales of history and lessons of perseverance that can instil a sense of pride in our boys’ heritage and lineage.  Beyond knowledge imparted, grandparents serve as positive role models, demonstrating strong values, respect and empathy which are qualities essential for boys to be “Men for Others”.

For our boys in the Junior School we want them to develop resilience, perseverance, respect and empathy and organisation which are high order skills to ensure they have a strong foundation for their personal development, academic achievements and future success in their learning, careers and relationships.

Let us embrace the wisdom of our elders, celebrate the love of our Grandparents and together build a nurturing village that will empower our boys to be “Men for Others”.
