Senior Hooptime

Thanks to Jarrod Butcher for organising Hooptime for the senior students, and all the Senior teachers for their support of this event. The students had a great day of friendly competition and cheering each other on!

Baguskan Incursion

Thanks to Zoe Webster for organising this incursion for the Middles this Friday, August 11. They will watch an Indonesian shadow puppet show,  and participate in an Indonesian dance or music program, before performing a Middle School Ramayana to the Junior students at their Assembly (2:45 - 3:15 in the PAC). I encourage all parents to make sure you have paid and consented so your child can participate in this opportunity to deepen their understanding of other cultures and appreciate the diversity that makes Australia such a wonderful place to live.

Communication

We value parent partnership and connection.  Here are a few important reminders about Parent/Carer and Teacher communication.

Email communication: Please use email correspondence to either

  • briefly share information, or
  • schedule a face-to-face meeting (or phone call) for more complex issues.
  • If requesting a meeting, please list agenda items for discussion, as opposed to communicating lengthy information through emails.

If a matter needs urgent attention, please contact reception (9725 1206) and our admin team can relay messages as needed. Teachers are generally unable to respond to emails between 8.30am and 4pm as they are teaching or in meetings.

Regarding in person meetings before/after school: Unless the conversation you need to have is less than 2 mins and is specifically related to the day ahead, please email the teacher to make a phone or face to face appointment. This ensures matters can be given the time and attention they need.

As per the Communication Policy, teachers have 48 hours (weekends not included) to respond to phone messages and emails.

PRIME Energy Drinks

We are having an increasing number of students bringing PRIME energy drinks to school. These drinks are not recommended for students under the age of 15 due to high levels of caffeine (even the one available at supermarkets).  Please do not give your child Prime to bring to school.  While there are two types of PRIME drinks, PRIME Hydration and PRIME energy- it is important to be aware of what your child is consuming.
