Year 8 Girls Soccer

Playing South Oakley, Balwyn and Rowville, the Year 8 girls had a great day at Darebin in the sun on Thursday 27th July.  Some of the highlights included an amazing shot from Ava which hit the crossbar, then followed up for the second ball, resulting in the only goal of the day. Olivia made countless amazing saves against Rowville and Mya’s incredible defending all day kept us in the game.  Overall a really good day, especially considering we played one player short all day.  Well done to all the girls.

Year 8 Basketball

Four Year 8 Basketball teams (two girls teams and two boys teams) competed in inter-school sport on Wednesday 2nd August.  The first boys team had a strong run to the semi- finals but then unfortunately lost by one point to Lilydale High. The seconds boys team won one game and lost two games, playing some tough sides in their draw. The girls first team played strongly, winning two games and losing one.   The girls second team also fought hard on the day but lost most of their games.  We had a fun day overall; all teams are to be commended on their great attitudes.

Year 8 Badminton

After winning the district competition, our Year 8 Badminton boys took part in the Eastern Metropolitan competition on Friday 11th August. It was a tough day from the beginning, playing against two tops teams and losing to both, but the boys were persistent in trying to improve on their game throughout the day.  We played Rowville in our last match and took it right up to them - we had Bailey win one game for us despite playing with a broken toe. The rest of the games were close and the boys left with a positive attitude to end the day. Good job Year 8 Badminton team.

Year 7 Basketball

A great day was had at Year 7 Basketball. With two boys teams and one girls team competing, we had mixed results with all teams winning a couple of games but also coming up against some tough competition.    The Boys A team progressed to the finals after finishing second in their pool and then finally finishing 4th overall. Well done to all the students who participated and well done to Jake (Year 10) and Jordy (Year 10) who did an excellent job coaching multiple teams on the day.

Equestrian

Well done to Ruby (7F) who recently represented the College at the Boneo Park Interschool Combined Training and Dressage Day at the Boneo Park Equestrian Centre, coming 14th out of 24.
