Endeavour House News

Hi and thank you to everyone for a fantastic start to the second semester. All the Endeavour girls are busy with school, sport and life, I congratulate them on being able to ‘switch back’ into boarding mode, after the holidays.

Some highlights so far this term have included Crazy Hair Day shenanigans, NAIDOC celebrations, Caitlin Hooper and Fenella O'Neill's birthday evening.

We have also welcomed Angela Fitz Gibbon (Anne), all the way from Dumaguete in the Philippines. On behalf of the Boarding community, I extend a warm welcome to Anne, Andrew and Rosalia into the Endeavour House family.

I always get a lot of inspiration for my Buzz reports from the photos that are collected on the house phone. Please enjoy the collection of images taken of the girls in their downtime. I'm sure you'll agree, it's so nice to see the girls having fun in their environment and just hanging out together. It's these incidental moments that I think are so special and give the girls a chance to just really relax and enjoy their surroundings. Thank you to Mrs Amber Freeman for being our #1 best photographer!

I have been having quite a few individual and group discussions with the girls about their approach to prep, academic reflections from Semester One and goal setting for the rest of the year. I cannot fault their commitment to wanting to do well, even if it’s sometimes hard to see the big picture – when summer holidays seem so far away! All the girls are trying so hard to stay on top of their commitments, working to improve their relationships with each other and developing their self-care skills each day.

The girls continue to work well in prep. The Year Eights have been given the opportunity to complete their independent tasks in their rooms but will still complete collaborative work out in the dining room. Year Sevens work for half the prep in the dining hall, (and if they are on track), they are allowed to complete their studies in their rooms. This has proved to be a popular initiative and so far, the girls are enjoying the quieter environment this has created. A big shout out to the Year Nines, who have set a high standard all year, in terms of their prep commitment and study habits, they really lead the way in terms of preparation, concentration, and work ethic.
