Young People Creating A Kinder World

From the team at Project Rockit- Our approach is built on the simple premise that young people can create positive change in the world around them - our job is to cultivate the skills, confidence and connection needed to do exactly that.

On Monday the 17th of July, a program that goes by the name "Project Rockit" visited the Errol Street campus. Students participated in a 90-minute incursion about safety online and how we can stay aware of problems we could run into while communicating online, whether it's a social media platform or gaming. 

During Project Rockit's incursion we played games to help us illustrate some lessons and tips in a fun and inclusive way. Project Rockit's message was definitely one to be remembered, as the online world is a big part in lots of people's lives. I personally, as a student, think that it is a great thing to be teaching children to be safe online. I hope that Project Rockit will continue to visit North Melbourne Primary School in the future and educate other children on the topic of cyber safety.
