Safe Pets Incursion

We were lucky enough to have a Safe Pets incursion come to visit our school which taught us how to be safe around pets that we do and don’t know. We learned what to look out for to identify an angry dog or a calm dog, and what to do in both situations. If we meet an angry dog there are four things we need to do: stand still, keep your hands down, stay as quiet as a mouse and look at the ground. When we do meet a friendly dog that we’d like to pat, we learned that we stop, ask, smell, and pet! As you can see, the Preps were great at practising these!

Literacy

We started off the term with a fairytale week, reading The Gingerbread Man, The Frog Prince, and The Three Little Pigs. We practiced sequencing and retelling, identifying our favourite parts, and creating our own endings to the stories.

Math

We have been learning about measurement using informal units to compare and order length and weight. And of course, we’ve been getting in Developmental Play wherever we can!

Welcome Miss Bre

The Prep Team would also like to officially welcome Miss Bre to Prep D!

We’re so lucky to have Miss Bre as part of our team, and we know that Prep D have been very excited and welcoming to her in her first term of school at NMPS.
