Social and Emotional Learning

During Term Three, our students will continue to collaborate with their peers and teachers, delving deeper into the four essential aspects of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management. They will also explore the Zones of Regulation, which provide a framework for understanding and managing emotions effectively. By further investigating the different zones and applying a toolbox of strategies, students will be better equipped to navigate and regulate their emotions in various situations.

Furthermore, our Level Five students will focus on important topics such as e-safety, responsible online communication, mental health coping mechanisms, the power of positive thinking, building resilience, and recognising inappropriate conversations and language.

To support your child’s learning at home, you could encourage them to:

  • Help them establish a routine that designates specific times for schoolwork and play. While flexibility might be needed during challenging times or transitions, maintaining a consistent schedule is valuable.
  • Engage in open and empathetic conversations about their emotions and experiences. Creating a safe space for them to share their feelings will support emotional growth.
  • Encourage your child to engage in hobbies, playtime, or relaxation activities that help them unwind and recharge.
