Year 2 News
The Year 2's had an amazing time at the Werribee Zoo! Students were immersed in an amazing habitat shared with incredibly unique animals. Using their natural curiosity children uncovered how living things grow, change and survive in nature. While at the zoo, they explored Habitat Haven using their senses and open-ended play-based activities. Students also learned about the basic needs of living things and the interdependence between animals and their habitats. We thank all the parent helpers for joining us!

Year 6 Soccer Finals
On Wednesday 27th July, two teams, one all-girls and the other all-boys from year 6, had the privilege of participating in the Woodlands Division Finals. They earned this opportunity by excelling in the Soccer District Gala Day last term, where they achieved an impressive 5-0 record to represent Craigieburn South District.
Right from the outset, all 22 students were well aware that skill alone would not be enough to win the finals. They knew that a combination of skill (50%), teamwork, communication, and faith (the other 50%) would be the key to success. Amazingly, both teams demonstrated all four essential qualities throughout the day.
The students showed highly skillful play, as well as effective communication and teamwork. They were attentive to their coaches' instructions, acknowledging the importance of collaboration in achieving their goals. Beyond their technical skills, the students also placed great importance on faith. Before each match, they united in prayer, expressing gratitude to God and seeking guidance for their games.
As a result of their collective efforts, both teams performed exceptionally well. The boys' team came out as the undefeated champions of the competition, making them the deserving winners. The Grand Final saw an intense match between Our Lady's and Roxburgh Rise, with a thrilling score of 1-1 (3-2) in favour of Our Lady's.
The girls' team also demonstrated their skills and resilience, securing third place after a hard-fought battle against Good Samaritan Primary School. The match ended in a 0-0 draw, with our girls winning 1-0 in a penalty shootout.
Congratulations to all players for reaching this impressive stage of the tournament. The boys' team, having secured victory in the Division Finals, will now carry on their journey into the Region Finals. Their accomplishments so far are a testament to their skill, teamwork, communication, and unwavering faith.
Well done to all the participants, and best of luck to the boys' team as they continue to pursue success in the upcoming Region Finals.

Craigieburn Library Class Visits
Students in years 5 and 6 will be visiting the Hume Craigieburn Library next term. For your child to be able to borrow a book they must be a member of the library. If your child isn't a member already the weekend would be a great time for you to visit the library and become a member. To sign up, you need to visit the library in person and provide identification with your current address. If your child has a membership card but has not borrowed within the last 12 months, their library card will be expired. We look forward to the library visits this year and making use of this amazing community resource.
