Term 1 Week 2

Feature News - Physical Education

Term 1

It has been such an amazing and inspiring start to the year across all year levels in P.E. The zest, laughs, smiles and effort from all students has been a highlight and has made for a seamless start to 2022. What awesome students we have and I feel very grateful that I get to teach them all.

For Term 1, the Junior classes are learning locomotor movement skills and object control skills and the Senior classes are learning movement sequences and net/wall sports. These sport units will consist of a range of individual work, group games and fun activities, where they will build on fitness, communication, teamwork, leadership and perseverance skills.

All year levels are also beginning to prepare for the annual Twilight Sports night events, with students building their fitness for short and long distance events.

Reminder to all students to please wear runners, bring your hat and drink bottle to your PE session.

Lunchtime Equipment

During lunch and recess the Junior and Senior students will be provided with a sport equipment bin full of basketballs, soccer balls, skipping ropes and hula hoops. The use of the equipment offered will provide students an opportunity to create positive connections with peers, build movement skills, increase fitness, provide a sense of responsibility and have FUN!

Inspiring our Community

Each week, we will offer opportunities for our community to be inspired. It may consist of staff/students being interviewed, outside community association information or fun activities to try at home. We aim to connect and inspire our community, promote positive lifestyles and provide information to connect with our community.

Mrs B's Wellbeing Story

Favourite sport - My favourite sport to watch is AFL, I barrack for Carlton and love going to watch the games at the MCG with my family. My favourite sport to play is Netball, I played netball from the age of 6 till late in my 30s. I loved the social element of netball and still to this day see all my netball friends. Netball is a wonderful sport for all ages, genders and abilities.

Favourite physical activity - I am very active and love all forms of physical activity. This year I have joined a local triathlon club, where I train 5 times a week. Triathlon includes 3 disciplines, swimming, riding and running. I have a personal goal to compete in a local triathlon at the end of March. I will keep you all updated with how I go.

Favourite down time activity - I am a bookworm and love reading books in a quiet space in my house. I read all types of books but love reading inspiring biographies. Reading allows me to stop, rest and relax.

Key lifestyle habits - I make sure I get enough sleep, eat a range of delicious food to refuel, write three things I am grateful for each day and be in the present moment with my family.

Quote I live by - "All you have to do in life, is to just BE YOURSELF".
