PERSONAL INJURIES AT SCHOOL
Families are reminded that the Department of Education and Training does not have insurance for accidental injuries or ambulance cover. All staff are trained to administer first aid to our students and when necessary seek emergency medical attention. Families should make their own arrangements to ensure costs are covered (for example, subscribing to Ambulance Victoria).
MEDICATION/ALLERGIES/
ANAPHYLAXIS/ASTHMA UPDATES
Please note that if your child is required to take any medication during school hours whether long term or short term, a Medication Authority Form or a Medication Register must be filled out, signed and brought to the office together with the medication. The medication must be in its original packaging clearly stating the child’s name and dosage required. Also, please note that we require up to date Allergy/Asthma/Anaphylaxis Plans. These plans need to be updated yearly.
COMPASS PARENT COMMUNICATION PORTAL
Our online communication service for families is called ‘Compass’. This is the primary means of communication between the school and home. Parents are able to login to Compass via the link
You can access Compass on any web enabled device: laptop, iPhone, iPad, tablet or android phone.
Each family has a unique login for Compass and can be used straight away. Compass provides the school community with a range of functions which streamline the school’s communication processes and provides enhanced access to information for parents.
Parents should access Compass on a regular basis for news and information and regularly update all contact information when changes occur.

Respectful Behaviours within the School Community Policy
Our school community has demonstrated incredible solidarity and resilience throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Being back in our classrooms with extra health and safety measures is another big transition, but it’s the very best one for our children's education. As we navigate these changes to onsite learning, including required mask wearing for some students, it’s more important than ever that adults in our school community treat each other with respect and kindness.
The Department of Education and Training has released a new policy that describes the positive behaviour expected from parents, carers, and other adults in Victorian school communities. The policy sets clear standards of behaviour to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for students, staff and adults.
There are also other resources to support safe and respectful relationships in our school community, including information about getting involved in the school, advice on how to raise a concern or complaint, and parenting support resources. You can find the new policy and these resources here.
