Greetings from Shaun

I would like to welcome the new families to Northcote PS and welcome back families returning for the 2022 school year.

The start of the year is always an exciting time, sharing school holiday stories and catching up with friends that we haven’t seen in a while. It is particularly exciting for our new prep students who are just starting their time with us at Northcote.

As a new member of the school, I feel very grateful for the warmth, approachability and excitement that everyone has shown not only to me but extended to each other in the wider school community.  I have really enjoyed seeing the first day of school photos and the hugs between loved ones. I am slowly starting to recognise familiar faces and trying very desperately to remember people’s names, so please continue to be patient with me over the next little while.

You may have also noticed that my face is not the only new one on staff this year, we also welcome Isabelle (Prep), Sam (Year 1/2), Eleanor (Year 3/4) and Luke (Year 5/6) and we welcome Cathy to the team in the Office. Please be sure to say hello and introduce yourself if you see them in the school.

I would also like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Lyn Ramsay whose last day at Northcote PS is today (Friday) after a staggering forty-eight, yes forty-eight, years of service at the school. In the short time I have known and worked with Lyn this year, I realised very quickly that the only thing greater than her knowledge of the ins-and-outs of the school is the love and fondness she has for the school.

Thanks for all your hard work, dedication and commitment to Northcote PS, you will be greatly missed.
