Principal's Message

Nurture.  Innovate.  Celebrate.

Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,

AMPHITHEATRE REJUVINATION

I am delighted to announce that after being delayed for several months due to COVID, work has finally commenced on rejuvenating our amphitheatre which forms a central meeting and place of connection for our school and community.

The vision for the works is to create a stronger connection to our other natural play spaces we have created in our Foundation playground, the Gallery climbing play area and our sensory garden. Lots of natural materials like mudstone rocks, stepping logs and timber boardwalks and seating will be used along with mostly native plants to add a touch of green and colour to the area.

The works will take a few weeks to complete but it will breathe new life and enjoyment into the space for all of us to enjoy and feel proud of!

FOUNDATION NEWS

Our Foundation students have thrived at school, and it has only been two weeks! They have achieved so much already, and all come to class eager to learn each day.

Our focus in Human Literacy has been how to make friends, it was wonderful to see the connections they made with one another and the kindness they have displayed whilst making new friends. Students have been learning how to be ‘bucket filler’ ensuring that everyone is happy at school.

In Literacy, Foundation students have worked extremely hard to learn their letter sounds and have begun to decode words from our Little Learners Love Literacy program. They have then transferred this knowledge into their writing by correctly forming their letters. Mathematics has been so much fun with many hands-on activities. Students are concentrating on one-to-one correspondence making sure that they tap and say the numbers as they count.

This Term for Discovery our Focus is ‘My Place in the world’. Our Foundation students have identified their own personal interests and shared this with the class. They have also made their families using popsicle sticks and shared with their peers what makes their family so special to them!

Take care and stay safe!

Kind regards,
