Announcement of Co-Principals for St Edward's School in 2020
Today's announcement of Lisa McSweeney's 12 month secondment to co-principal of St Edward's Primary School comes with mixed emotion. As principal of St Nicholas School, I am devastated to be losing an educator and leader of her calibre. As a friend, I am delighted she has been rewarded with this opportunity. St Edward's School deserves another quality leader, and they have this in Lisa.
Please find below the announcement which was circulated to the St Edward's community this morning.
2020 St Nicholas School Assistant Principal
With Lisa's secondment, please find below an announcement from Chris Smyth in regards to the Assistant Principal for St Nicholas School in 2020. I congratulate Renee Dunst on this opportunity and am delighted her hard work and dedication has been acknowledge through this appointment.
Staff Structure 2020
Please see below our Staff Structure for 2020. On Monday our students will enjoy ‘Moving On Up Day’, where they will be allocated their teacher for 2020. Please remember teaching is now a ‘team sport’ and your child’s learning will be led by all teachers on the grade.
Reports
Our teachers have completed the final touches on the 2019 Semester 2 reports. These reports will go home with your children today. Please take the time to sit with your child, discuss their achievement, progress and use it as an opportunity to set future goals.
PT&F Christmas party
An enormous thank you for the PT&F for their support and coordination of this years community Christmas party. The simplicity of the evening supported the desire to allow people to stop, mingle and enjoy each other's company. With the hectic nature of this season, this was greatly appreciated and was integral to the night's wonderful success.
Secondly, congratulations and thank you to the St Nicholas School Band. Whether sitting and watching our band or listening to their pieces as part of the background to a social conversation, great joy was brought to the evening. What a wonderful addition you are to our school. Another opportunity for our students to engage in something they love. Another opportunity for our children to shine.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
With this the last newsletter before our students break for their well deserved Christmas and summer holidays I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your efforts throughout the year. I wish you a very happy, holy and merry Christmas. To those moving on, remember you are always a part of our family and we look forward to hearing stories of great success. To our returning students and families, I look forward with great anticipation to a wonderful 2020!
Have a wonderful weekend,
John Clery

SCHOOL FEES
Have you considered Direct Debit?
We thank all our families for their commitment to paying school fees in 2019. The last couple of years have been very difficult for many of our families and yet in this time of hardship our families still prioritise the education of their children over material gain. Many families have opted to pay weekly and fortnightly direct debits to ease the financial burden. We encourage this type of payment for your budgeting purposes. A weekly direct debit of $39-$40 for one child, which continues throughout the holidays for the school year will cover the yearly fees. Please contact me if you wish to take advantage of the Direct Debit system.
